The Hunters and the Hunted (R)

Since the beginning of time man has hunted. However, not all men hunt the same things. Here in this place creatures live. This forest is filled with many things which many are unaware of. However, there are those who know and hunt what lies within the shadows of the forest. We are the hunters, searching out and destroying all manner of beasts and aberrations.

Then there are the hunted. Ranging from elves and fairies to dark spirits and demons we have made this place our home. We may be vile or timid, powerful or frail, but we creatures born of legend and mist reside here and will remain until the end of time or until the hunters extinguish our flame.

The question is: "Who... are you?"

The characters in this rp are either hunters which may or may not possess special abilities, or creatures based on myth legend and folklore. To join please fill out the appropriate character sheet after reading the rules.

Every hunter must be humanoid and may not possess immortality. No OP characters. You may not begin posting as your character until your character is approved. Immortality is not an option unless specified under special circumstances. Sexual interactions need to be kept to a minimum please refrain from graphic descriptions, and no sexual images are allowed. Pictures of characters which include nudity or gore must be placed in a spoiler box with an appropriate caption as warning. The R in the title indicates the rating.  If necessary more rules will be added. Please do not cause rule addition to be necessary.

Backstory: When he was young he was possessed by a spirit. His parents took him to an exorcist and the spirit was removed from his body at the cost of his eyes and the death of his parents. However the price of his eyes removal allowed his mind to become immune to further possession. Ever since that day he has trained to become an effective monster hunter

Once in a vary rare moment he might meet his killer and have mercy if his or her heart is acceptable. But forgiveness comes at the cost of protecting something of the beast's choosing.

Backstory: Was dumped in the woods to die when his mother saw his black eyes and thought he was a freak. The elves found him and raised him. He was tattooed with a symbol that signifies he is considered a blood relative.

Backstory: A trickster fox that roams around the world, sometimes burning things down. Was indebted to someone who recently died and is now free from servitude. Only has three tails, but will get his fourth tail in a year or two.

Backstory: He lived in the forest with his mother, older brother and older sister. His father was killed by his older brother. After he turned 15 he left the camp more often to go and watch the human people of the town.

He was the youngest detective in the force. After two years of police work, there was an incident, so  he went to the woods to hunt creatures that had been known to kill and murder.

Backstory: At a young age she watched with horror as her little brother was tortured, maimed, mutilated, and killed for fun by a group of dark elves. She has hated and hunted creatures ever since. The images of her brother's death, haunted her both night and day. Her only relief from the laughing voices in her mind and the screams of her brother, was when she killed a creature. Whenever one would escape, she would spiral into a state of insanity where the voices of her memory would taunt her. In those moments she would punish herself by cutting a mark in her wrist, one mark for every missed kill.

Jake: *Sits in a cafeteria watching the humans*

Tania: *stares at her reflection in the hospital mirror* this is the best you could do?

Doctor: *looks at tania* we tried ma'am, but the burns were too severe... I'm afraid you will look like that forever.

Tania: I see... I guess I need to call my professors... there is no reason for me to continue with my degree then... thank you for trying. *the doctor exits and she screams throwing a vase at the wall. she sighs vowing to hunt down the one who set her house ablaze.*

Eenhoorn: *his form drifts out of the night sky as he is reborn from his constellation. he smiles inwardly and lands on earth.* Ahh Earth, how I have missed your creatures and strange scents.

Lilly: *shudders as another scream wakes her from her nightmare. she tenses and looks around. she grabs her bow and heads out trying to shake off the images and screams that haunt her every moment.*

Bret: *giggles and drops a vase on the floor watching as the woman squeals trying to rescue her furniture from the ghost. he floats about watching happily.*

Kai rolls around in the leaves in the forest, he just was released from servitude about a week ago since his old master just died, and he could not be happier. He's been hitchhiking the country and just recently came to this town where he decided to test his fire magic. It worked very well. Who knew houses could be so flammable?

Benjamin: *walks through the woods, his bow in hand.*

Tril: *sits in a tree*

Eenhoorn: *canters towards the sound and sees Kai. His eyes sparkle kindly*

Jake: *sees an eyeless man?*

Tania: *walks to her hotel room*

Lilly: *is in the forest. she watches the creature with interest*

Cecil pokes at his food. He clicks his tongue and looks up, seemingly scanning the room.

Kai sneezes from the leaves then stands up on his paws. His three tails moving wildly. He barks in the direction of Eenhoorn.

Eenhoorn: Hello young one. *smiles*

Jake: *tilts his head watching the man curiously. Jake's scent is a bit inhuman due to his odd DNA makeup*

Cecil scowls toward Jake. He leaves his table, taking his knife and fork, but leaving the rest of the stuff there.

Kai tilts his head.
"You aren't a normal horse, are ya?"

Meraming: *wakes up from a nap in a coral reef* You startled me Meech! What's got you so excited? *bends down and listens intently* Activity on the surface? *eyes sparkle with excitement* Let's go! *grabs her weapons and sweeps Meech up in her arm. She quietly glides to the surface and her glowing dress dims*

Tril: *climbs higher in the tree to get a better view of the town.*

Benjamin: *shoots an apple from a tree*

Eenhoorn: I am not a horse at all. *chuckles* I am known as Eenhoorn. Orn for those who have difficulty pronouncing it.

Jake: *looks at his watch and realizes he has been here a full four hours. He exits the door and walks down the street towards an alleyway.*

Lilly: *is near tril and she is watching meraming, a bow is pointed at her heart*

Tril: *notices Lilly on the ground.*

Cecil hears someone leave the building and smells the reek of inhuman. He follows behind Jake.

"Well you look like a horse," Kai said, digging a small hole in the leaf pile.

Meraming: *eyes a blond woman in the distance* Oh shit, a human. *sees an oblivious Elf on a tree* Don't those stupid elves have any caution? *grabs a dagger and takes careful aim as she sends an alarm to the river creatures through the water current*

Tril: *quietly climbs lower, keeping himself mostly hidden in the leaves*

Eenhoorn: and you look like a fox, but clearly are not. I have seen your kind many times before. But you are pleasantly different.

Tania: *sleeps*

Bret: *wanders*

Lilly: *draws her bow*

Jake: *"jumps" a fence and heads towards the woods hesitating and listening before continuing*

Kai stops his digging and looks up to Orn.
"You've seen more of me?"

Cecil follows, gripping the stolen fork in his pocket.

Meraming: *whispers* Meech, she saw me, you're gonna have to go for it. I'll distract her.

Meech: *rolls into the direction of Lily, who is oblivious of him*

Meraming: *throws the smallest of her sea glass daggers and snags Lily's sleeve into a tree* Meech now!

Meech : *jumps up, spikes exposed, and embeds himself on the back of Lily's neck*

Tril: *looks quite concerned. he bilocates onto the ground, wrapping himself in darkness.*

Benjamin: *heads back to the town, having had his fill of shooting apples, and the apples.*

Eenhoorn: Yes, i have known hundreds of your kind.

Jake: *Is starting to enter the forest, he takes off his sunglasses*

Lilly: *spins the bow pulling it taunt and releasing towards the creature on her neck*

Kai gapes.
"Really?"
He starts bouncing.
"What are they like?????????"

Cecil stops.
"I knew it."

Jake: *turns suddenly as cecil gets close. he faces him* why are you following me?

Eenhoorn: Many of your kind are vile, but some became dear friends. They can become very powerful. But you are young and have many tails to gain before then.

MEECH: *is knocked off of Lily's neck by the arrow, leaves a trail of a sticky residue*

MERAMING: *to herself* Good boy, Meech!*Throws another dagger in the direction of Lily's free arm*

Cecil scowls.
"You know why you filthy half-breed."

Kai's eyes sparkle.
"I can't wait to get my fourth tail."

Lilly: *rips free and dodges the blade -that to her moves slowly- with unbelievable speed especially considering how frail she appears.*

Eenhoorn: I have missed this world, young one. I wonder if i might join you as you grow and gain your next tail. It has been many years since I last walked this land and I would prefer to do so with a companion.

Jake: *tenses* but... you can't see... how... I don't want trouble sir.

Bret: *near benjamin*

Tril: *bilocates to a bush near lilly as the dagger flies where he was*

MERAMING: That bitch! *dagger flies past Lily and hits Meech who is still falling to the ground, dagger deflects off of him and impales itself in the ground, 8 feet behind Lily*

MERMAMING: *screaming* MEECH! NO! *starts screaming in anguish and tears as she summons the waters of the river into a huge tidal wave* Come at me, bitch! *she releases the force of the water onto the earth*

"Sure thing! It should be happening in a year or so. Usually during the fall. Or is it spring here..." Kai looks puzzled, "Anyway, I'm not sure if you could stay with me though. My current home isn't really that big."
Kai motioned towards the hole he's been digging during the conversation.

"Shut up," Cecil said, "If you didn't want trouble you wouldn't be posing as a human."

Tril: Ma'am you may want to. . . *he says when he sees the water, but thenn stops as he realizes the mistake*

Lilly: *Climbs rapidly into a tree and pulls an arrow pointing it towards tril with such hatred in her eyes that it could practically burn into his soul*

Eenhoorn: I need nowhere to rest. I will sleep in the heavens if need be.

Jake: I'm not trying to pose... i just want people to let me alone... if i don't wear sunglasses i get attacked... really *He sounds fearful and starts backing away slightly*

Tril: *gulps, but then bilocates himself into the tree above her* I was just telling you about the water. *he slaps his forehead when he again realizes his mistake*

Benjamin: *sits down to eat his last apple*

Bret: *enters the apple and tries to make it hit ben*

Lilly: *spins practically screaming at him. she releases an arrow at mer before pulling an arrow on tril*

((AW OMG KAI IS ADORABLE AND MUST BE PROTECTED))

MERAMING: *creates a protective covering over Tril using the water from her tidal wave* Oh my fucking gosh you are stupid! Just keep your mouth shut for a bit. *creates fists with the water and lunges them towards Lily*

MEECH: *weakly* ...ming

"If you want people to leave you alone then you wouldn't be pretending to be human." Cecil said, stepping closer.

Kai blinks, as if he's not entirely sure what Orn was talking about.
"Kay."
He continues on the makeshift den in the leaf pile.

Tril: *He biteleports out of the water to the top of the tree*

Benjamin: *throws the apple in the air and quickly shoots it*

MERAMING: Meech! *rushes to the urchin's side, narrowly missing the arrow by a few seconds, she scoops Meech up and places him into her body (which is mostly water) and turns around* Just try to shoot an arrow at me again! Fucking try it! *she sends a stream of boiling water towards Lily*

Jake: I... I just like being around people... they wouldn't let me if they knew.. They try to kill people who are different like i am...

Eenhoorn: You will see... I will show you what I meant by entering the heavens.

Lilly: *Is shaking with hate, she screams and moves faster dodging the water and shooting again at tril*

Bret: *emerges from apple and laughs hysterically*

MERAMING: *screams in anger and sends a wall of boiling water towards Lily while at the same time using the water to pluck the arrow headed towards Tril out of the air and back to Lily*

"Because your kind does the same to us," Cecil spat.

Kai pushes some leaves over his makeshift den.
"Ok! But first I need food."
Kai walks a few feet away, sniffing the area.

Tril: Hey!!!! *he quickly envelopes the tree in darkness* I just wanted to help.

Benjamin: *takes out another arrow*

MERAMING: *sarcastic* Oh yeah, because killing you wasn't easy already. *tree goes dark* What the f- What the hell did you do?
