The Hunters and the Hunted (R)

Jake: *shudders slightly at the human contact. The doctor finishes and sews him up wrapping him in bandages. The doctor indicates to Ben that Jake is healing quickly but needs some time and to be looked after in order to keep the stitches from being torn open. He also mentions that this young man is clearly not human based on his internal structure and several other observations of his internal body and the way it works, not to mention the fangs. In light of this he told ben he can't keep Jake in the hospital or anywhere in case the city found out and that it's up to ben to figure out what to do with the guy*

Benjamin: *thanks the doctor and reminds him of the deal he had when he brought jake in* I'll look after him, thank you

Benjamin: *He takes jake to an abandoned cabin not far into the woods*

Jake: *Watches him with a puzzled look, and then gets a strained look on his face, he tries to get the fangs to recede but they wont budge. Finally looking frustrated he gives up and looks at Ben again.* My.... My name is Jake... *he says quietly after a moment of uncertainty.*

Benjamin: Benjamin. You ought to go to sleep.

Jake: what I said earlier.... About not wanting anything... I wasn't lying... I was just running from another hunter... *looks away and mumbles almost to himself* Why didn't you kill me? *he drifts asleep before he could receive an answer*

*Nightfall

(( I assume I was currently inactive? ))
Jack sees the ghost boy and starts to talk.
"Hey buddy. You look down, maybe a few jokes will lift your spirits?"
One of his pupils go out then reignit.

Kai rides on the magical unicorn.

Bret: *His eyes light up a bit* Oh! hello!

Eenhoorn: *His hooves leave silver footprints as he gallops, and as they increase speed he lifts off the ground rising into the sky until they stand in the clouds. He looks over his shoulder at Kai indicating firelight in the distance below.* There lies an elven camp.

(Waiting on meraming)

Jack holds out his hand to Bret.
"The name's Jack. Jack Marrow. What's yours?"

Kai leans to take a look of the camp, looking like he's about to fall off.

Bret: uh... *looks at the hand* you do realize mine will pass right through... don't you?

Eenhoorn: Careful young kai. It is a far fall.

Jack shrugs and puts his hand down.
"Well you don't have tibia stranger, at least tell me your name."

Bret: the name's bret! *Grins and gurgles slightly. His mouth drips a bit of water as he grins.*

"Woah there, it seems like you're soaked to the bone!" Jack laughs.

Bret: *grins* Yah, I drowned. I'm pretty sure I was murdered.

"That doesn't sound too humerus." Jack's plastered on grin seems to grow a bit wider

Jake: *Wakes at sundown*

Tania: *Waits for Darius.*

Lilly: Why does aisha kind-of glow?

Eenhoorn: *Starts sinking towards the ground near the dark elf camp.*

Bret: *still near mer. He grins.* No kidding! You really do like making skeletal references don't you? ((don't you mean jack?))

(( yes. I knew I was going to make that mistake sometime ))
"What can I say, it tickles my funny bone," Jack's left eye goes out then reignites.

Bret: what's with your eyes by the way? *Looks interested*

Eenhoorn: *Lands in the village*

PAUSED UNTIL 9 am

"I guess when I died they bulged out of my sockets," Jack shrugged

Bret: You don't remember dying?

Eenhoorn: You may climb off now. I recommend you remain in your human form to prevent them from getting any ideas about a fox dinner.

Kai hops off of Orn and looks around in wonder.

"Any story I've heard has just been a fibula. So I'm not sure how I died. I don't really care though."

After a long night of worry, Meraming has managed to help Meech. (Sea glass is lethal to sea urchins and when her dagger hit him it poisoned his entire body. Since Meech is magic, he did not die instantly.) She goes to her father who is speaking with one of the generals of the river army. They become quiet rapidly, when she walks in.

DAD: How's Meech, sweetheart?

MERAMING: *EXHAUSTED AND HALF ASLEEP* He'll be fine. I soaked him a charcoal tea bath infused with at least 34 different types of crushed coral and starfish. Then I wrapped him in some enchanted seaweed. *hugs her father* Thank you, daddy. I was so scared he wouldn't survive *she cries silently and tears streak down her face*

DAD: Go sleep, Ming, you've had a long day. *kisses her forehead* Goodnigt, darling.

MERAMING: Goodnight, daddy, goodnight General. *she swims to her bed*

Eenhoorn: for the moment stay behind me. *walks forward to the camp*

Two Dark elves approach

Eenhoorn: *nods his head slightly in greeting. after a moment's pause the dark elves nod a bit rudely* It has been many generations since I last saw your village. I assume you don't remember me considering your lack of respect. I wish to speak to your leader, perhaps it is time i reintroduce myself.

Bret: Odd... so what do you do for fun? *glances at the water as he sees something swimming*

"Well I'm a bit of a lazy bones so I mostly sleep. Not many people are willing to talk to me, so it's all there is to do," Jack leans on a tree behind him.

Kai peers from behind Orn, giving a toothy grin to the Dark elves. His tails moved excitedly.

Tril: Aisha? She's a nymph. It would be easier if she explained.

Benjamin: Hello there.

Korlith: *nods to the unicorn and Watches him.*

Mia: *Stands beside her brother*

Eenhoorn: .... I do not find your silence amusing... now please introduce me to your new chief. You will take us into your camp and you will treat my companion with respect as you will treat me with honor. *his eyes are firm and seem to blaze with a power deep below the surface.*

Jake: *tenses briefly before remembering where he is.* wh...what happened?

Bret: Hmmm... Have you ever haunted someone? Or tried scaring them? It's very fun.

Lilly: A what?

Tania: *Still waiting for Darius.*

"Nah. Scaring someone sounds like it would take a skele-TON of work. Why not just relax and enjoy death as it is?" Jack put his hands behind his head, both of his eyes going out, making any life inside of him seem suddenly gone.

Tril: Let's just ask her.

Benjamin: You have been asleep.

Korlith: his face shows contempt. but he says nothing.

Mia: *she nods* follow me.

Bret: *sneaks forward wondering if he can possess jack*

Eenhoorn: *Bows and motions for kai to walk beside him now. He follows her.*

Jake: I mean... I don't remember what happened after you shot me in the heel....

Lilly: ok... *blushes*

Tril: *they walk back to the cabin and sit down in the kitchen*

Aisha: come this way, your room is done.

Benjamin: You kinda tried to kill me, but it's alright, you seemed really out of it.

Korlith: *he walks behind them*

Mia: *she leads them to the main tent and walks in* This is our leader *she says dryly*

Leader: *stands*

Jake: I'm so sorry! I... I don't remember anything.... *Starts to try to sit up and grunts clenching his fangs. He gets a confused look and reaches up touching his teeth.* uh... *Looks at ben with a confused expression before groaning and grabbing his side as he continues to try to sit up.*

Lilly: aisha?

Eenhoorn: *Bows slightly but respectfully. He motions for kai to bow as well.*

Benjamin: lay back down

Aisha: yes?

Leader: It is a pleasure to meet you. *he says, feigning reverence* what can we do for you?

Eenhoorn: It has been many years since I was last here, however I did not think your race would so easily forget all that I am. It appears even the leaders have grown lax and frail since I left. It saddens me that your people show so little respect to outsiders.

Jake: Now tries to push himself up to stand.*

Lilly: what are you? *Tilts her head cutely*

Benjamin: *he gently but forcefully pushes him back on the bed*

Korlith: *he inwardly smirks as he stands at the back of the tent, standing straight and stiff*

Leader: *he frowns at lax and frail* What can we do for you? *he asks in a what-do-you-want-and-leave-us-alone tone of voice*

Aisha: I am a nymph. Nymphs are creatures. I save people from dying. Here is your room.

Kai waves to Korlith as he passes by.

Jack's right eye reignites and he suddenly appears at a different tree.
"If your trying to sneak up on me you're going to have to put a little more backbone into it."

Korlith: *he frowns at him*

Jake: *Tenses at ben's touch but then relaxes under his hands. He blushes slightly and looks away with a puzzled look on his face. He is confused by the feeling of human touch.*

Eenhoorn: Perhaps you should return to your writings of the past. You may find them enlightening. My name is Eenhoorn, also called Orn, or the constellation Monceros. I will remain here with my companion until you find your past. *Sits down then lies down motioning for kai to relax.*

Lilly: what is a nymph?

Bret: can you be possessed?

Kai was already pretty relaxed.

Jack's eye goes out again.
"Who says I'm not already?"

Darius: *stands at on the window ceil of Tania's room* Its time get your crossbow

Aisha: It's hard to explain, but it's been a long day, you should go to bed. Tril I've made a bed for you on the couch.

Benjamin: *he sits back down in the chair* What's wrong.

Leader: *he stands there for a moment before leaving in a huff*

Korlith and Mia: *Don't move, but stand by the door*

Bret: well could i try to possess you?

Tania: *steps out* I'm ready when you are.

Eenhoorn: *Smiles at kai.* It seems they do not remember me well, but in a moment they will likely return with better hospitality. Until then, I apologize for their actions if you find them rude.

Lilly: *nods and yawns. she goes into her room.* tril?

Jake: *blushes.* I... I've never really ben touched by another human before.... *looks away.*

Benjamin: ok. . . well you ought to rest, or at least lay there.

Tril: Yes? *he turns around*

Darius: how far can you jump?

Leader: *he returns, his face still shows disgust at having to serve, but it also shows some "respect" of the power* Follow me.

Mia: *she walks beside the leader*

Korlith: *walks behinh*

Tania: Far enough.

Lilly: I... I'm scared. Can you stay?

Jake: I... I need to go... I shouldn't be here. *tries to get up again. He yelps but continues.*

Eenhoorn: *Nods his head. He nudges kai and they follow.*

Darius: Then you better keep up *Darius jumped to the roof of the building on the opposite side of the street and ran really fast to the left.

Tania: *She is glad she is athletic, she runs after him keeping up.*

Benjamin: *he pushes him back to the bed, holding him there* stay.

Tril: Sure I can stay. *he smiles at her*

Leader: *they come to a tent that is fitting for the new occupant* here you can stay. *he quickly turns to leave*

Mia: *goes in the direction of her tent*

Korlith: *stays outside the door*

Darius: *after running for about an hour stops and looks down at the street. waiting for Tania to hurry up.*

Jake: *His face turns a bit more red and he looks away but pushes against ben still trying to get up.* I... I shouldn't stay... *grits his teeth at the pain from his side.*

Eenhoorn: I am not interested in usurping your command, I only offer advice and wish for respect for myself and my young companion. However, I would like to meet with you later to discuss a few things.

Lilly: *hugs him*

Tania: *gasps for breath when she catchs up.* Can w...e st..op for a mo..ment? *She says between gasps.*

Benjamin: I will tie you down if I have to. you are safe. You are in the woods. *he face shows question toward his red face* what's wrong? besides you wanting to leave. *He holds him to the bed, waiting for Jake to relax* and about your question before you fell asleep.

Tril: *he hugs her back* I'll get my blanket. *he gets his blanket and returns and puts it on the floor*

Leader: *he turns around and in a contemptual voice he says* I know. Tomorrow is fine.
